It is an extremely moving and, in part, an extremely funny play, and all of the young women who spoke the word have vaginas. I have a vagina myself. I am sure it is the existence of vaginas that troubles the principal, even as the existence of the scrotum of a dog apparently troubles others.
I would try to express arch bemusement, if I could. Instead I am astounded. Overcome, even. These are words that are the names of intimate parts of our persons. They are the right words. They mean what they say, and say them we must.
Do I need to to a public place and say "vagina!" Oh wait, I just did.
