A bit of background: the Booklist offices are on the east end of the third floor of American Library Association headquarters. The American Libraries offices are on the west end of the third floor. We pass the AL folks in the hall every day and sometimes even engage in idle chit-chat as we wait for the elevator. (We have separate water coolers, however — the camaraderie only goes so far.)
