As for my own opinion on the subject, I think that the most dangerous ideas are the ones we're not allowed to discuss openly. Sometimes ALA has been criticized for continuing to call them "Banned Books" when in fact many the books have only been challenged or have become the subjects of debate, but anytime anyone wants to pull a book from a public shelf, that's a dangerous moment. The only person who should decide whether a book is appropriate for you to read is you. (And in a few extreme cases, your parents.) Good luck with your article--and keep reading!
