Sarah Palin: Publishing’s Savior?
Posted by: Keir Graff
Word on the street has it that Sarah Palin may get as much as $7 million for a book deal. Some people don’t believe it, but one newspaper was bold enough to open an article with the following:
She failed to save John McCain from presidential election doom, but Sarah Palin, the Republican senator’s controversial running mate, may yet emerge as the saviour of the American publishing industry.
Maybe I missed something, but I thought many experts agreed that giant advances are part of what’s causing the publishing industry to feel unwell. So if some publisher thinks that going maverick is a sure path to victory, well . . . talk to John McCain.
