Visits from the Tooth Fairy and a Real Live Author
Posted by: Laura Tillotson
Any kid who’s lost a tooth (or is waiting to lose a tooth) will enjoy Jenny Meyerhoff’s Third Grade Baby, about a girl who worries that she’s too old for a visit from the tooth fairy. Now students have a chance to win a visit with the author in person.
This month Meyerhoff is holding a contest, and the 20 lucky classrooms that win will each receive an autographed copy of the book, goody bags for every student, and a chance to meet the author in a virtual one-hour visit. The deadline is September 30, so don’t wait for a loose tooth to sign up your favorite classroom.
One more thing: Meyerhoff, a former kindergarten teacher, has written a free downloadable 13-page curriculum guide for Third Grade Baby that connects the book to social studies, math, language arts, and science. Who knew that loose teeth could be so instructive?
