What can you say about Robert Parker’s characters who have become real to us all. No more Spenser. It’s unthinkable! It’s like giving up best friends. Dick Francis’ characters were not all the same but they very well could have been. They all had integrity, honor, and did the right thing, no matter the cost to them personally. I cannot bear the thought of no more from them. I agree that hopefully they left many more books to enjoy. I amgoing to begin again with Dick Francis and read them all again.

Dick Francis is an author I’ll will miss so much! What will I give my children for Christmas now? What will I wait with bated breath for now? His books will go on my very short list of authors whose works I will read every 3-5 years and enjoy all over again.

I’m 79. I have never read a Dick Francis book although I’ve been encouraged to by my reading friends. I will start with Nerve and work my way through them (if I don’t run out of time.) Thank you.
