Wood Wins American History Book Prize

empire-of-liberty The New York Times reports that Brown Professor Gordon S. Wood received the $50,000 American History Book prize for Empire of Liberty: A History of the Early Republic, 1789-1815. In addition to the cash he gets a nifty title: American Historian Laureate.
