Book Trailer Thursday: If You Knew Then What I Know Now
Posted by: Daniel Kraus
Every essayist should be fortunate enough to know a filmmaker like Tucker Capps. Capps’ trailer (or short film, really) for Ryan Van Meter’s If You Knew Then What I Know Now (Sarabande, 2011) is a beautiful thing. Using techniques I can’t even begin to guess at, the film is one part animation and one part live action, and breaks your heart in just under three minutes flat.

The film is a superb introduction to a beautiful, must-read book. Thank you for posting!

Love that trailer. Another gem, created by Tucker Capps, is his trailer for “Marry or Burn: Stories” by Valerie Trueblood. Can’t wait what he’ll do next.
