I read the trilogy — hmm, maybe I only read two? — and I recall that Ender’s Game was the best and that I was not as satisfied with the sequels.

Great shame that Orson Scott Card has gone bananas. Don’t know if that was affecting his writing or not.

Hi!
A lifelong SF devotee, I read “Ender’s Game” when it first came out. It is the only book I have read in one sitting, and I stayed up all night to do it.

I haven’t heard Under Heaven called YA, but you’re right–the YA contingent voted early and often!

Interesting to me is the fact that of your “short list” all of the titles could be considered “YA.” I’m not familiar with Insatiable, but Cabot of Princess Diary fame can’t have created that sophisticated a vampire romance, could she?

I want to say that the original Ender’s Trilogy is amazing and the other titles are more sophisticated as Ender grows to adulthood, particularly Xenocide. I know, I know, so many books, so little time.
