Reading the Screen: A Blade Runner Sequel?
Posted by: David Pitt
According to this report from Reuters – along with a lot of other sources — Ridley Scott will be directing a follow-up (though not necessarily a sequel) to his 1982 classic, Blade Runner.
Blade Runner, as I’m sure you know, was based on the 1968 Philip K. Dick novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? It’s a brilliant movie, if not a completely faithful adaptation of the book, and the idea of doing a follow-up scares me a little.
What do you think? Should Scott leave well enough alone? And, if he goes forward, what — if any — Philip K. Dick story should he use as his source?

Leave well enough alone, say I. Kind of like Michael Jordan coming back to play with the Washington Wizards–it can only tarnish his legacy.
