Book Trailer Thursday: Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
Posted by: Annie Bostrom

This week’s BTT offers a break from the norm (to assuage the pain of last week’s hiatus, of course) with what can sometimes be the most enticing, if somewhat indirect, form of book advertising: the trailer for a big-budget (in this case) film adapted from its loved and lauded leafy cousin. Without further ado – the film version of Jonathan Safran Foer’s Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, a 2006 ALA Notable Book, populated on screen by Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, and some lucky kid:

The movie hits theaters on Christmas, giving you, dear readers, two and a half months to get your hands on the paper version. How else will you be able to say, when all is said and done, “I liked the movie… but the book was better”?
