Man Booker Prize 2012 Shortlist
Posted by: Sarah Hunter
After last year’s contentious Booker Prize nominations, all eyes will surely be on this year’s short list, announced today. No news yet on how readability will factor into selecting the winner, but the judges are getting ahead of the game by praising the writers’ wordsmithing abilities: “After re-reading an extraordinary longlist of twelve, it was the pure power of prose that settled most debates.” Here’s a list of the nominees with links to Booklist reviews where available. Keep an eye out for the winner on October 16th.

The Garden of Evening Mists, by Tan Twan Eng
